Welcome to Genetic Clinics Australia

Genetic Clinics Australia is a new genetic counselling and testing service, located in Caulfield, Victoria. Our mission is to provide prospective parents with the most comprehensive advice regarding their risk of having a child affected with a genetic disease. No referral is required to attend our clinic and our friendly staff are ready to provide you with personalised advice for your future family planning.

Our clinic offers a range of the latest genetic screening tests available, with detailed discussions to help you understand your genetic test results and their implications for you and your family. Our tests can screen for just a few conditions or over a hundred conditions at once. With recent advances in genetic technologies, these tests are faster and more reliable than ever before. Genetic carrier screening is ideally done before pregnancy (pre-conception) but other genetic tests can also be beneficial in early pregnancy.

We are pleased to announce that recent guidelines released by the American College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists recommend all couples be offered the option of genetic carrier screening for common genetic conditions, such as cystic fibrosis, spinal muscular atrophy and fragile X syndrome (ACOG Committee Opinion 691, March 2017). It is great to see this widespread endorsement of genetic screening before couples embark on pregnancies, to enable them to make informed decisions about their future children’s health.

Together, we can help prevent the diagnosis of serious genetic conditions and support couples to achieve their dreams of a healthy future family.

We would like to encourage anyone planning to start or extend their family to take advantage of this new community service and Contact us to discuss how Genetic Clinics Australia can help you.
